Daniel Degner joined Wisconsin Family Council’s Church Ambassador Network initiative in 2020. Over the last four years he has multiplied our church engagement in the Capitol and shown his leadership prowess. This past June, the Board of Directors of Wisconsin Family Council and Wisconsin Family Action asked Daniel to become interim president, a difficult assignment but one in which Daniel has excelled. The Board of Directors is grateful for Julaine Appling’s 26 years as president and knows these are tremendous shoes to fill. Julaine will continue to work with Wisconsin Family Action and Wisconsin Family Council as president emeritus in a consulting role. The Board of Directors believes Daniel Degner is the best person to continue to advance the mission of Wisconsin Family Action and Wisconsin Family Council. Last Friday our boards unanimously voted to extend to him the offer to become the permanent president of Wisconsin Family Action and Wisconsin Family Council, and we are thankful he has accepted the offer.

It has always been my prayer that I would be able to hire my successor. Even if it wasn’t how we had originally planned it, I am thankful that God answered my prayer. Since I hired Daniel in 2020, I have seen him grow Wisconsin Family Council’s Church Ambassador Network initiative, but more importantly I’ve seen firsthand the growth in Daniel. He has proven himself to be teachable and coachable in a spirit of humility. During these last three months as interim president, Daniel has continued to exhibit these traits and has excelled in this role. I have full faith that he will continue to grow the impact and advance the mission of Wisconsin Family Action and Wisconsin Family Council. I am grateful for the opportunity to pass the baton of leadership to Daniel as the next President of Wisconsin Family Action and Wisconsin Family Council. I am fully confident that these organizations that mean so much to me are in very good hands.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the President of Wisconsin Family Action and Wisconsin Family Council. Serving as the interim president these last three months has been humbling and continues to be so as president. My prayer is that God would continue to build this ministry from the foundation that Julaine Appling left as our president of 26 years. Thanks to ministry partners like you, together we will be able to continue to transform our state to see a Wisconsin where God is honored, life is cherished, families thrive, and religious freedom flourishes.
