“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” – Psalm 139:13-14
Tomorrow, January 22, is Sanctity of Human Life Day. Throughout January, churches and pro-life organizations have observed the sanctity of life and prayed for the restoration of pro-life values in our nation, but tomorrow especially we want to set time aside to honor the sanctity of life and pray for God’s protection over the unborn.
With the overturning of Roe in 2022, the pro-life movement won a significant battle – but that doesn’t mean the war is over. Sadly, studies have reported a national increase in abortions since Dobbs returned the issue to the states.
Under Wisconsin’s pre-Roe law, abortion was only legal when the mother’s life was at risk. Unfortunately, due to a court decision by a liberal judicial activist, abortion is now happening through the 5th month of pregnancy. This case is awaiting a decision by the Wisconsin State Supreme Court that could rule to uphold the pre-Roe law which affirms life, or keep abortion legal through the 5th month of pregnancy, or even worse, create a constitutional right to abortion through birth. This is one reason why it is absolutely crucial for voters to elect another conservative justice to the Court in the April 1 election.
Although the pro-life movement has made significant strides since Roe was overturned, that doesn’t mean we can sit back and relax. There is work to be done, and WFA continues to fight on the front lines of the battle against abortion in Wisconsin. Please join us in prayer that God will grant us favor in our ongoing efforts to protect life in the Badger State.
Your prayers really do make a difference. Last year our office got a phone call from Sandy. Sandy was snowbirding down south when she got a phone call that her granddaughter was going to get an abortion at Planned Parenthood. She requested help from our team to encourage her granddaughter to choose life. Praise God that through our help, pro-life sidewalk counselors, and prayers of our team and supporters like you, Sandy’s granddaughter chose life and that baby is healthy and alive today.
Thankfully, in Sandy’s case, she knew where to go for help and she was ready to affirm a pro-life ethic in this moment of crisis. If you need help with giving a defense for the pro-life movement and how to encourage others to support life, we encourage you to join us tomorrow at noon at noon (CT), for our ‘Lunch with a Purpose’ webinar featuring pro-life author and speaker Scott Klusendorf. At this event, you will learn more about how we can make the case for life in our current cultural context. Scott is the president of Life Training Institute, where he trains pro-life advocates to persuasively defend the pro-life position.
Scott’s book, The Case for Life, is one of the best pro-life books on the market. We’re looking forward to hearing his insight on communicating pro-life values to a culture entranced in the spirit of this age. Click HERE to register.
We hope you’ll join us in honoring and celebrating Sanctity of Human Life Day tomorrow!
