Happy Labor Day!

For many of us, Labor Day is simply a chance to enjoy the day off work or complete a house project along with an excuse to grill some brats. But Labor Day also provides us with an opportunity to turn our eyes to the work ahead of us and remember the power of work accomplished together.

Working Together

Here in Wisconsin, we have much work ahead of us as we fight against the evil all around us. As some leaders in our state promote policies that devalue life, harm children, and upend God’s design, we must double down on our efforts to promote the truth. The work of spreading the gospel and effecting cultural shifts is certainly a heavy burden. But we don’t bear the burden alone!

One of the most discouraging experiences is that of working alone. In a race, a runner is most vulnerable if he is separated from the pack. With no one to pace him, he can easily lose speed and motivation. In these moments, the runner is most likely to give in to pain and exhaustion. Finding himself alone, he may slow down and, even worse, may drop out of the race altogether.

But on the flipside, the simple addition of a teammate by his side greatly increases his potential on the course. Together, they will encourage each other to keep going through the difficult portions of the race and push each other to a strong finish. Likewise, we need each other in our efforts to promote biblical values in Wisconsin. The work is too great to accomplish on our own, but together we can make a difference.

Here at Wisconsin Family Action, we want to equip you to engage in creating a God honoring culture and remind you that you are not alone. We are all working together to fight against the forces of darkness and shine the light of Christ into our culture.

If you are in need of some encouragement or want to learn how you can better engage with our culture, we invite you to join us at one of our free local grassroots community events. For the next six months, our theme is From Backyards to Ballots: Building a Stronger State.

At this free event, we’ll break bread together, address local issues, and drive systemic change across Wisconsin. Hosted by Wisconsin Family Council and Wisconsin Family Action, this event will empower you to build networks of local activists and create a ripple effect from your community to the state capitol.

What to Expect

  • Hear from WFC/WFA President Emeritus Julaine Appling about how local activism in her community is fueling statewide transformation.
  • Get updates from President Daniel Degner on our vision for closing out 2025 and preparing for 2026, with practical ways to support candidates and causes that reflect your priorities.
  • Connect with neighbors and regional activists to form networks that strengthen your community.
  • Learn how to organize community strategy sessions, lead voter education efforts, and/or join county-wide coalitions to advocate for state-level policies.
  • Enjoy a complimentary supper while networking with others passionate about making a difference across Wisconsin.

This event is your opportunity to start locally and achieve statewide impact. Every action counts toward a stronger state! The work ahead of us may seem daunting, but together we can create a lasting impact.
