2021-2022 Public Hearing Testimony

Following is some of the testimony Wisconsin Family Action has provided in public hearings held this session (2021-2022):
Bill testified on during week of February 14-18, 2022. Julaine Appling, WFA president, provided testimony.
ASSEMBLY BILL 970 –  Lifts income restrictions and enrollment caps on all three of Wisconsin’s Parental Choice Programs (educational voucher programs)–Milwaukee, Racine, and statewide.

SENATE BILL 923 (“Heartbeat” bill) – Prohibits abortions once a heartbeat can be detected in an unborn baby.
ASSEMBLY BILL 414/SENATE BILL 410 – Prohibits state and local governments from training employees in CRT.
ASSEMBLY BILL 963 (“Parents’ Bill of Rights”)Delineates specific rights of parents, establishes cause of action, and requires highest level of scrutiny for these rights to be abrogated

SENATE BILL 591 (companion to Assembly Bill 593) – Requires that women who receive a chemical abortion via a drug regiment be told that the process may be reversed after the first dose and also adds some reporting requirements for abortionists and abortion facilities.
SENATE BILL 593 (companion to Assembly Bill 595) – Prohibits abortions done solely based on sex, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, or fetal anomaly
SENATE BILL 503 (companion to Assembly Bill 493) – Would prohibit abortion providers from receiving funds under the Medical Assistance program (public monies)
SENATE BILL 584 – would permit churches with private schools to establish a policy to allow for persons who are licensed to conceal carry to do so during church services, etc.

ASSEMBLY BILL 6 – Companion to Senate Bill 16, Born-Alive Infant Protection bill requiring medical personnel present at an abortion to give life-saving care to a baby who survives an abortion
ASSEMBLY BILL 36  – Would allow pharmacists to prescribe certain contraceptive drugs and devices. This document accompanies WFA’s testimony.
ASSEMBLY BILL 262 – Adds additional information that abortionists and abortion facilities would be required to report
ASSEMBLY BILL 493 – Would prohibit abortion providers from receiving funds under the Medical Assistance program (public monies)

ASSEMBLY BILL 562 – On requiring school districts to give parents notification if any program or instructional materials are going to be used that deal with sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or gender expression.
ASSEMBLY BILL 563 – Would require all school districts, all independent charter schools, and private schools to include a civics education course in their program.

ASSEMBLY BILL 414 – Prohibits state and local governments from training employees in CRT.
ASSEMBLY BILL 411/SENATE BILL 411 – Prohibits the teaching of CRT in WI public schools and bans the training of teachers in CRT
ASSEMBLY BILL 488 – Requires school boards to make readily available to the public, information about learning materials and educational activities used for pupil instruction.
