PASSED: Two Election Integrity Bills in Wisconsin

“The Wisconsin Senate [Tuesday] afternoon passed two more election integrity bills, SB 203 and SB 212,” announced State Senator Duey Strobel (R-Saukville).

Senator Strobel went on to explain the bills, “The first bill prohibits so-called ‘ballot harvesting’ and brings Wisconsin into line with 40 other states that safeguard the return of another person’s absentee ballot.”

“The second bill clarifies that it is the voter — not an election worker — who must fix any defects in an absentee ballot certificate. Senate Republicans have now passed 6 election integrity bills this session. We promised to deliver election integrity reforms and we are delivering on that promise!”

This is good news. Not only are the officials we elected keeping their word, but they are also protecting our voice — YOUR vote — in the state of Wisconsin. Our right to choose our government leaders is a pivotal and foundational facet of our freedom and this great nation. Wisconsin Family Action and Wisconsin Family Council applaud legislators like Senator Strobel who are fighting for and protecting the integrity of elections. These bills are now in the Assembly awaiting a vote in that house. Several other election reforms are currently in process in the legislature.

Looking for how to respond to some of the most critical issues of our day?

If so, please consider attending a community-wide “leadership training” event promoting POSITIVE racial reconciliation and race relations. Wisconsin Family Council is co-sponsoring this event with Remnant Rising, a local group in Wausau.

Please join us for an evening promoting POSITIVE racial reconciliation and race relations. Renowned speakers and authors, Kevin McGary and Neil Mammen from Every Black Life Matters (EBLM), will present, share resources, and provide strategic training on how to address and talk about subjects like critical race theory, social justice, and racism in America. Education is the key in order to come together to tackle these problems. We all have a stake in the solution.

Executives, employees, government officials, parents, students — everyone should attend. You will be informed, equipped and encouraged! Register HERE to attend this free event.

For an overview of Critical Race Theory and a suggested action point, read this week’s Wisconsin Family Connection HERE.

America’s Dropping Fertility Rate: What’s at Stake

U.S. birth and fertility rates in 2020 dropped to another record low as births fell for the sixth consecutive year to the lowest levels since 1979, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control. The number of births in the U.S. declined last year by four percent from 2019.

The U.S. birth rate is so low, the nation is ‘below replacement levels,’ meaning more people die every day than are being born, the CDC said. Sustained low birth rates have a serious impact on every aspect of society, from workforce to schools to housing and even food supplies.

Julaine Appling. WFA president, responded to these stats by encouraging married couples to  do as Scripture indicates.

“In demographic terms, the United States is moving towards a ‘demographic winter.’ Other countries show us that. recovering from this dangerous situation is not easy, but it is doable. Essentially we need to follow God’s design, which is married couples doing what God told the first married couple, Adam and Eve, to do: be fruitful and multiply. As always God’s way is the best way.”

Mothers in the Bible

As we continue to honor mothers this month, we consider mothers in Scripture such as Jochebed, Moses’s mother; Hannah, Samuel’s mother; Ruth, the great-grandmother of King David; Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist; and certainly Mary, the mother of Jesus, each of whom beautifully typifies godly mothers.

Proverbs 31  depicts a godly mother and wife as one who sacrificially meets the needs of her family and others and is known for reverencing the Lord, resulting in her children rising up and calling her blessed and her husband praising her.

Julaine Appling further commented, “In God’s design, there’s a very real sense in which mothers are irreplaceable. At Wisconsin Family Council we praise God for the incredible mothers He has given each of us. Really honoring our mothers should be a daily activity as we recognize that they, like the Proverbs 31 mother, have time and again selflessly sacrificed for their children and family.”

If you’re still looking for ways to honor your mother, or a mother your know, until the end of the month you can CELEBRATE HER HERE, and we will send a card to woman you indicate, letting them know you’re thinking of them!
