Pro-Life workers Can Opt Out of Unions With Wisconsin’s New Law

seiuUnions are donating money to Planned Parenthood, and members who object are often unable to hold their unions accountable.

According to a search of union records on the Department of Labor’s website, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the Service Employees International Union and United Food and Commercial Workers gave a combined $435,000 to Planned Parenthood last year.

Wisconsin’s new Freedom of Conscience in the Workplace (Right to Work), or Act 1, law grants every union worker freedom from joining a union and paying dues.

Wisconsin Family Action (WFA) strongly supported this bill and worked hard on your behalf to bring it to fruition in The Badger State, “We did what was naturally suited to our organization,” says Julaine Appling, president of WFA, “Freedom of conscience and freedom of religion walk hand in hand. Our state Constitution actually combines both of them in exactly the same place— Article 1, Section 18. And especially with those freedoms being impinged on around the country, it’s a very important victory to secure them in the workplace.”
